Who they are
A court that never noticed its own death. Skeletons, ghosts and bone beasts serve the Pale Princess and fear nothing: any fallen soul may rise again, and the Court’s magic cracks armor.
Motto: The fallen rise, magic grows. Playstyle: Attrition: the enemy tires while your army refills from the fallen.
Strengths and weaknesses
- Strengths: The fallen rise, magic and arrows pierce armor.
- Weaknesses: Weak against holy magic; thin armor.
Racial trait: Dust
Every 5th death near your army raises a free skeleton for 30 s.
Every 5th death near your army (within 220 units) raises a free skeleton with 65% health for 30 seconds. No more than (3 + castle level) raised skeletons can stand at once: from 4 at level 1 up to 8 at level 5.
The hero and the spell: The Pale Princess Maelis
The Pale Princess Maelis, Mistress of the Court. Spell: Bone storm. After 0.8 s a storm of bones bursts in a circle of radius 110: 55 damage at castle level 1 (up to 88 at level 5) and a slow on enemies (speed ×0.6) for 2.5 s. Lines take 40% of that damage. Cooldown 45 s.

How to play the Pale Court
The opening
4 skeleton warriors and 2 skeleton archers cost 196 gold. A skeleton warrior rises once with 30% health after dying and archers ignore 2 points of armor. The Pale Court wins long fights: do not be afraid to trade losses.
The midgame
Level 2: the ghost (physical damage to it ×0.5, magic ×1.5) and the gravedigger (heals nearby skeletons for 8 health per second). Level 3: the bone rider (archers near the target shoot 25% slower) and the lich apprentice (area damage, stronger with many fallen nearby). Dust gathers the fallen: every 5th death nearby raises a skeleton.
The late game
The coffin cart (level 4) fires from 240 units and hits lines ×2.5. The bone dragon (level 5) breathes frost over an area and slows enemies. The Bone storm spell hurts and slows everyone in the circle: use it when enemies bunch up at a line.
Against whom and how
- Against the Kingdom: spearmen and knights beat your skeletons head-on, so play from magic and archers and keep the Ghost in the front line: it barely takes physical damage. Beware the battle mage: it hits undead 30% harder.
- Against the Wilds: the Ghost and the gravedigger hold the pack while the lich and the dragon hit crowds of scamps by area. Do not let wolves reach your archers.
- Mirror: whoever keeps their skeletons better (gravediggers, Dust) and times the Bone storm wins.
The Pale Court is a faction of patience: it drags the fight out and wins with the numbers of the fallen.
FAQ
What does Dust do?
Every 5th death near your army raises a free skeleton for 30 seconds. No more than (3 + castle level) raised skeletons can stand at once: from 4 at level 1 up to 8 at level 5.
Why is the Pale Court dangerous?
It restores its losses: skeletons rise, gravediggers heal, Dust adds units. The longer the fight, the better for the Court.
