FAQ
Is Warhosts free?
Yes. The game is free: nothing to install, buy or download. It opens in the browser on a computer or a phone. There are no paid upgrades that change army strength.
Do I need to register?
You can play against bots without registering. A free account (email, nickname, password) is needed for online battles, your personal rating, a place in the leaderboard and writing in the global chat. You can read the chat without signing in.
How long does a battle last?
Usually 10–15 minutes. A match is designed to finish within about 15–17 minutes: from minute 15 the front structure of each side starts to decay and the army decides the outcome.
How many factions and units are there?
Three factions: the Kingdom, the Wilds and the Pale Court. Each has eight units of five tiers, a hero with a spell and a racial trait. 24 units in total, see the full list in the unit reference.
How does the ranking work?
Every player has four ratings: one per faction and one for the Random mode. It starts at 1000 points and is computed with the Elo formula. Opponents are matched within ±500 points. See the ranking page for details.
Can I pause the game?
You can pause a battle against a bot. There is no pause in an online battle against a player: time runs the same for both, the menu opens but the battle continues. Leaving the battle counts as a surrender.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. Turn the phone sideways: the interface adapts to the screen and the buttons are sized for a finger. No separate app is needed.
What happens if my connection drops during an online battle?
Come back to the site and sign in to the same account: the game puts you back into the running battle at the same place. If a player does not return within 45 seconds, they lose.
How do I recover my password?
Press “Forgot password?” in the sign-in window and enter the email you registered with. We send a link for a new password; it works for one hour. If the email does not arrive, check your Spam folder or message the administrator in the in-game chat.
What age is the game for?
For players aged 12 and over: a fictional fantasy world with stylized graphics, no blood and no suffering. Defeated units simply fade away.
Is Warhosts the same as “Ratoborcy”?
Yes. Warhosts is the international name, “Ratoborcy” (Ратоборцы) is the Russian one. It is the same game with the same factions and rules.
How do I report a bug or suggest an idea?
Write in the in-game global chat: the administrator with the nickname Snikqq (their messages are highlighted) reads it. Chat is read-only for players without an account.
