Warhosts: online strategy game in your browser
Warhosts is a free tactical strategy game that runs right in your browser on a computer or phone. You command an army and tear down the enemy citadel: choose which troops go into each wave, upgrade your castle to unlock stronger warriors, build workshops for income and capture the mine in the middle of the field. Play against bots on three difficulty levels or against real players in online battles with a ranking for every faction.
Free email registration opens online battles, your personal rating, the leaderboard and the global chat that is always available on the left of the game.
Three factions with unique armies
Kingdom
Blue and gold. Militia, archers, spearmen, banner-bearers, knights, wizards, catapults and griffins. Sturdy stone castles and a disciplined formation: the tighter the ranks, the stronger the troops.
Wild Reach
Green and amber. Goblin scamps, spear-throwers, beetles, shamans, wolves, witches, golems and wyverns. Castles of wood, bone and vines, spore clouds and a pack call that keeps growing in power.
Pale Court
Violet with a teal glow. Skeletons, archers, ghosts, diggers, riders, crypt-keepers, hearses and bone dragons. Dark spires, fallen warriors that rise again and a bone storm that sweeps crowds away.
How to play
- Pick a faction and an opponent: a bot, or a real player in the Online battle section.
- Tap the troop cards at the bottom: a wave marches out every half a minute and takes every warrior you bought.
- Save gold and upgrade the castle (five levels): it unlocks stronger troops, enlarges the wave and strengthens your lines of defense.
- Upgrade attack and armor for the whole army and build workshops: each one gives extra gold per second.
- Use the hero spell: a volley of arrows, a pack call or a bone storm on a crowd of enemies.
- Break the palisade and the wall, then destroy the enemy citadel to win.
Controls: mouse or touch; keys 1–8 buy troops, Z undoes, R repeats the previous wave, C opens the castle, Q casts the spell. Battles against a bot can be paused, online battles against a player cannot.
Online battles and player ranking
In an online battle two players place real troops against each other at the same time. The rating is counted separately for every faction (Kingdom, Wild Reach, Pale Court) and for the Random faction mode. The start rating is 1000 points, opponents are matched within ±500. The leaderboard shows the best players of every category.

Is the game free?
Yes. Nothing to install or buy: Warhosts opens in your browser on a computer or phone.
Do I need to register?
You can play against bots without registering. Online battles, the ranking and the chat need a free account: email, nickname and password.
How does the ranking work?
Each player has four ratings: one per faction and one for the random faction. A win adds points and a loss takes them away; the stronger the opponent, the bigger the reward.
How do I recover my password?
Press Forgot password in the sign-in window, enter your registration email and we will send a link for a new password. It is valid for one hour.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes, turn the phone sideways: the interface adapts to the screen and the buttons are sized for a finger.
